Senior Manager / DGM – Controls & Systems Engineering

Summary: The Gas Turbine Product Service Engineer (Controls) is responsible for providing resolutions to customer issues and engineering requests. In this role he/she will be responsible for solving technical controls/ system issues at customer sites, ranging from daily technical troubleshooting/ recommendations to complex Root Cause Analyses with long-term business implications to the organization and the customers.

  • Lead root cause investigations for issues with significant fleet impact from initial
    investigation through the corrective and preventive actions phase
  • Serve as a recognized expert dedicated to Controls and System area, both internally and externally, partnering with customers and respective engineering interface teams
  • Collaborate with interface teams to identify root cause and resolutions, practice decisions making with limited data, leverage engineering judgement and interact with customers
  • Aid in the development of key metrics that promote accountability and ensure the timely closure of issues
  • Coordinate across the organization with Services, Parts, BHEL/ GE Design Engineering, and other required functions to plan and implement technical solutions to complex issues
  • Understand the challenges faced by the customer and negotiate strategic/ commercial decisions that meet both organization and customer interests
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal interfaces to ensure that customer requirements are understood and being addressed
  • Travel to customer locations in support of services/ sales/ commercial teams during
    unplanned/ forced outages and customer technical review meetings

Qualifications /Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with Gas Turbine operation, service, or technical
    support from controls perspective
  • In-depth knowledge in GE design Gas Turbine systems and controls
  • Ability and willingness to support off-hours occasionally to support issue resolution
